Michelle Heaton has candidly documented her journey before and after getting her breast implants replaced in moving video diary.
The former Liberty X star, 42, discovered her breast implants, which she had put in after having a double-mastectomy 10 years ago, had ruptured in December after “worried” fans contacted her following the publication of an OKAY! photoshoot.
In this Tuesday’s new magazine, a delighted Michelle will reveal the results of her surgery and tell all about the process. And during the journey to have the ruptured implants removed, Michelle documented her thoughts and feelings of her in a moving and honest video diary – which she has now shared exclusively with OKAY!.
Speaking in the first clip, which you can watch above, Michelle explains how she took action after fans saw her breasts were “misshapen”.
In a clip recorded in January, Michelle explains: “It’s confirmed that they’re capitulating and leaking inside after a scan and that’s as far as I’ve got so far.”
In another video captured weeks later, Michelle explains she had a consultation on Zoom with her surgeon, who presented her with two options.
“He says that he has to either skin graft,” she says. “Which would mean lots of skin from my back and put around, which I really don’t want that. I feel like I’ve just had a lot of scars and surgeries that I don’t want to go down that route.
“The other alternative is to find some fat from somewhere, which sounds great right? Get rid of some fat. But, it’s not that straight-forward and I have lost a lot of weight since getting sober, which might prove problematic but that’s where I’m at the moment.”
In a later clip, filmed by Michelle on 27 January, she reveals she has an operation date, which is Saturday 5 February.
Speaking to the camera, Michelle explains: “It’s in just over week’s time. I got a phone call earlier this week to say they’ve just had an opening on the 5th February. I haven’t really had time to digest it, bit nervous, obviously.
“I’m in at 8am at Harley Street Village hospital and it’s been a really mad 12 months and, hopefully, it’ll end on this and my new chapter begins with just being healthy and happy and just getting back to the old me and I’m really excited.”
On the night before the operation, Michelle says in her video diary: “I’m the kind of person that cracks on with everything and it is what it is. But, I just feel a bit vulnerable this time, I don’t know why?
“I’m sad to be going into hospital again but I just… Do you know what, I’m just so happy it’s getting done and the people have just been amazing and put my anxiety at ease. I just can’t believe it, 12 hours time I’ll be done and dusted.”
As she prepared to leave for her breast operation, she admitted: “I feel alright, I’m tired, I didn’t really sleep well, I’ve got to admit. My husband Hughey has just dropped the kids off at a friend’s house and he’s coming back in five minutes to pick me up to go in so I will see you all not he other side.”
In the hospital, Michelle used her video diary to document her pre-op markings on her legs, which show where the doctor was planning to take fat from. This was then placed around her breasts to help re-shape them.
She says: “I’ve just had my pre-op marking and as you can see they they’ve marked out the bits where they’re going to take the fat out. They’ve marked out bits where the fat will be going in once he takes away the implant and replaces it with a new one. I’m going in in four minutes, wish me luck.”
Michelle then films herself to capture her thoughts and feelings after the procedure.
“Just woke up about three minutes ago,” she says looking tired as she speaks to the camera. “Apparently the first thing I said was: ‘Do you have Netflix?’ And I had crazy dreams, but I’m really shaky from the adrenaline. I think it all went well, bit of pain but I’m all good.”
Later, Michelle captures a moment of herself standing up in a sports bra to document her recovery. “I’m standing slowly, I’m shaking like a leaf – it’s just the adrenaline. Hugh is on his way, I leave in about an hour, ready to recover. I am in pain but they look good, they look good. They’re smaller, they’re smaller. I’m happy.”
After getting home, Michelle tells her diary: “I tell you what, already the anesthetic is wearing off, the numbness in my thighs is slowly going away and I think the inner-thighs, where I’ve had the fat transfer, I’ ve heard that’s going to be the painful bit over the next few days.

“I’m really happy I’m home and I didn’t stay over night. It’s nice to get a bit of peace and quiet if I’m honest.”
Sat in her bed, 72 hours on from the operation, Michelle explains in another clip: “I am very sore on my legs, however, it’s not got worse. So I think I’m over the worst. But, I’m so sleepy today, yesterday I felt better in my body ignoring the soreness of the operation. But, I’m really tired, I need to nap.”
Six days on from the operation Michelle can be seen in a hairdressers as she updates her diary, explaining: “I’m feeling, actually, quite good. First few days were exhausting and I was in a lot of pain. But, now my pain is that I can’t wash my hair so I’m at the hair salon! I’m about to go over to Harley Street to get my dressings re-dressed, which means another week without washing my hair so I just couldn’ t wait, it’s been killing me!
“But, at the moment I feel like I’m healing well, time will tell today. The main things I’ve had is more discomfort on my legs than my boobs and the itchy feeling around my boobs settling and healing has been aggravating to say the least!”
