The 25th World Book Day has landed, and numerous celebrities and their children have pulled out all the stops to mark the occasion. Every year on the 3rd March, children in schools get creative as they dress up as their favorite literary character.
This year, more celebrities and their children have put in the effort and dressed up as some of the nation’s most beloved characters, such as Woody from Toy Story and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.
TV star Kate Ferdinand was one of the first celebrities to show off her children’s costumes, and they have certainly pulled out all the stops. With her skin covered in orange paint, Kate’s step-daughter Tia was dressed as an Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
She completed her outfit with a green wig and a brown and white outfit. Tia was also pictured holding hands with her Ella half-brother Ella Cree, who is dressed up as Woody from Toy Story. Kate captioned the post: “You’ve got a friend in me…. World Book Day.”
Many of her followers have flocked to the comment section to praise her children’s efforts. One user wrote: ” Ah this has made me smile,” and another wrote: “ Oh this is just adorable, love the costumes.”
Despite being away from home, Rochelle Humes also shared her children’s World Book Day costumes, with both of her daughters dressing up as Mirabel from Disney’s Encanto. Valentina and Alaia-Mai both wore matching outfits as they beamed at the camera.
Rochelle’s youngest child Blake, born in 2020, dressed up as The Gruffalo from the children’s picture book. He looked adorable in his all in one outfit as he sat smiling at the camera lens.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon also had a similar idea with Encanto, as her daughter dressed up as Dolores from the same Disney movie. Ella’s youngest daughter, meanwhile, dressed up as a ladybug girl.
Fellow TOWIE star Amy Childs posted an adorable photo of her daughter, Polly, dressed up as a Disney princess for World Book Day. Posing in a sparkly pink dress, Amy captioned her post from her: “Of course polly wanted to dress up as a Disney Princess for #worldbookday.”
Heart FM radio presenter Amanda Holden also couldn’t resist dressing up for World Book Day, and got her co-hosts Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston to get involved. All three dressed up as The Three Musketeers in matching blue and white outfits.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge also shared a photo of her youngest daughter Hollie, 12, posing as a pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean. She posed in a white top with brown trousers and boots, completed with a pirates hat.
Kerry Katona also shared a photo of her daughter dressed up as Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter franchise. She captioned her post: “It’s world book day people and look who my baby girl went dressed up as.”
Kerry’s followers also commented on her post and couldn’t believe how grown up her daughter looked. One user said: “Just to cute. She’s so grown up Kerry. Your an amazing mum,” whilst a second person said: “Little Hermione,” with heart-eye emojis.
