It will take you just over an hour to get to the Forest of Dean from Coventry, where untouched nature, valleys and wooded expanses await.

If you live in Allesley for example, a journey down the M42, M5 and M50 will take you 1 hour and 24 minutes and straight to Symonds Yat Rock.

You could start by heading to Symonds Yat Rock car park, and take a stroll to the top of the rock, which is an internationally famous viewpoint.

There are walking and bike trails, a cafe, and it is one of the best places in the country to watch Peregrine Falcons.

You will recognize the winding river Wye and lush green banks from the drone landscape shots in Sex Education.

The coming-of-age comedy features a stellar cast which includes Gillian Anderson, Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa.

Season 3 of the show aired in autumn 2021, and is due to return for series 4, although it is not clear when this will be released.

A walk down the public footpath from Symond’s Yat Rock will take you past one of the most famous and recognizable houses in Sex Education, where the character Otis lives with his sex therapist mother Jean.

Sitting high on a hill, the iconic tv house was actually a flat-pack house from Norway, brought over on a train in 1912 and installed into the side of the valley.

The house also features in Sandi Toksvig’s Extraordinary Escapes, where she describes the house as a “kind of early 20th century Ikea.”

The chalet was transformed into a holiday rental after the owner said they received hundreds of requests for stays from around the world, following season one.

Other Sex Education locations are spread across Herefordshire, the South Wales valleys and Gloucestershire.

The bridge that best friends Otis and Eric cross while heading to Moordale High is the Old Railway Bridge at Tintern, further down the Wye.

Carry on down the public footpath fro Symond’s Yat Rock to the village of Symond’s Yat East, where you can enjoy a waterside pint at the Saracen’s Head Pub.

Across the water from Symond’s Yat East is Symond’s Yat West, which you can only access by passenger ferry or a long drive around.

The calm river has rapids, making it popular with kayakers.
