Meet the sponsors who make the Echo Regional Business Awards possible

The Echo Regional Business Awards will be soon upon us – and with the nomination window having just closed, we can’t wait to find out who this year’s incredible finalists will be. The awards, with headline sponsors Liverpool John Moores and Liverpool Business School, will be held on Thursday, May 26 – tickets can be booked via this link.

For more than 25 years, the awards have honored the best and brightest of Liverpool’s business community – recognizing the achievements of businesses, employees and entrepreneurs alike. This year is no different, and we can’t wait to celebrate those across Liverpool who have truly distinguished themselves over the last 12 months.

Awards like these wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors – so ahead of the awards, we’ve asked our category sponsors why they think the awards are so important.

Homes For Students

Chief operating officer at Homes for Students, Kate Forester, said: Entering awards is all about the feel-good factor and receiving that well-deserved recognition for a job well done. It’s not all about winning. To even be shortlisted for awards like the Echo Regional Business Awards is an achievement in itself as there’s so much talent in the city region.”

Liverpool John Moores University

Pro vice-chancellor in the Faculty of Business and Law and Liverpool John Moores, Tim Nichol, said: We all need to know about success, and the awards provide an opportunity for organizations to showcase the products and services they bring to the marketplace – and the excellent people involved in the business. Increasingly organizations are being challenged to explain how they work in a way that is beneficial to the community they operate in and the wider world. The awards enable them to showcase the work they are doing in the community and in relation to the big issues such as climate change.”

merseyrail

Deputy managing director at Merseyrail, Jane English, said: “Entering these awards is a great opportunity to promote your business or work to a new audience or showing your existing customers that you are a successful and respected business that they should continue to engage with. It is also a great opportunity to shine a light on your staff and thank them for all of the hard work they do and the impact they have on a thriving local economy in the Liverpool City Region.”

NextEnergy

Commercial Manager at Next Energy, Jon Furlong, said: “Entering the Echo Regional Business Awards is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to draw attention to their accomplishments and further promote their brands. The engagement and networking with other businesses and resources around the region can be hugely beneficial, and we have found first hand from previous experience, that the recognition which accompanies a successful nomination offers your business a massive USP when tendering for further opportunities.”

Only Car Sales

Company director at Solo Car Sales, James McConville said: “We have been nominated in several award ceremonies over the years and we find them really important for everything from staff morale to increasing brand awareness across the city. It promotes a culture of improvement in your business and recently helped shape our new mission and vision statements ‘To become the most loved award-winning car supermarket in the UK’.”

United Utilities

Stakeholder manager in corporate affairs at United Utilities, Steven Wong, said: “United Utilities is excited to be category sponsor at this year’s awards. We celebrate diversity of thought, color and belief. It’s widely recognized that a diverse company – one that is representative of its customer base – is a successful one. It also makes for a great place to work.

“Employees can see and hear from people and cultures they are familiar with, but also from those they aren’t. What better way to help people open their minds to the lived experiences of others, and in turn, create more compassion and understanding.”
