When we found out Celebs Go Dating star Kimberly Hart-Simpson would be rejoining cast of Coronation Street, we couldn’t wait to chat with her. Kimberly played sex worker Nicky Wheatley who first appeared on the Cobbles in 2020 following the death of Dan Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn).
It was recently confirmed that she’d be making a comeback to the ITV soap and she revealed that she manifested her return in two and a half hours. After chatting to the actress, we had to get eyes on the vision board she used to do this, and we can exclusively reveal that snap here.
During our chat, Kimberly explained: “The first thing that went on that board was Coronation Street! I wrote a line about how I’d feel if I got to go back and who I’d tell first. Two and a half hours later my agent called me and said Corrie had put the feelers out.
Here, she reveals what else is on her vision board, teases what’s to come between her character and Daisy Midgely (Charlotte Jordan) and opens up about the realities of reality TV.

Congratulations on your Corrie comeback. How does it feel to be back on the Cobbles?
It’s brilliant. I’m really excited and I feel so blessed to be back there.
Did you ever think you’d be back?
I hoped I would! The storyline was left with a bit of a question mark above it, so I always wanted to come back.
We’ve heard that you manifested the role within hours of putting it on your vision board…
yeah! I like to wake up and see my goals in front of me first thing in the morning, so I’ve got a vision board of ten things that I want in my life. I woke up one day and felt like my energy was a bit off, so I didn’t do anything that day. I just gave myself time to realign my visions of what I wanted.
And Corrie made the cut?
The first thing that went on that board was Coronation Street! I wrote a line about how I’d feel if I got to go back and who I’d tell first. Two and a half hours later my agent called me and said Corrie had put the feelers out. It made me feel so powerful.
Is there anything else on there you’d care to share with us?
I wanted to put my clothing line into retail which I’ve managed to do now. I’ve also got I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on there because I’d love to go into the jungle.
What do your loved ones think?
I’ve got a group of mates who all buy into that kind of thing which is nice because I don’t feel so mad! [Laughs]
What’s it like to be back on set with your old co-stars?
It honestly feels like I never left. I’ve just picked up where I left off with everybody.
It sounds like Nicky is set to cause some serious drama with Daisy and Daniel. What can you tell us?
Nicky has come back as a different woman. She’s done her TA training, she’s got her goals from her in sight and the future is looking really positive for her which rocks Daisy’s ego from her. I do think she feels threatened by her. Whether she needs to or not is yet to be confirmed.
Can we expect a Corrie cat fight?
I couldn’t possibly tell you that. [Laughs] What I can tell you is that one of my favorite scenes I’ve ever done is when I had to throw a shoe at someone, so I’m fully down for a catfight!
What’s it been like to work with Charlotte Jordan?
She’s absolutely brilliant. She was super warm when we first met and within five minutes I felt completely myself around her.
You’re close to your mom. Is she proud of you for getting back into the soap?
Ah, she’s buzzing for me to go back there. She’s been telling literally everybody about it. Ella she’d stop a cat in the street and let it know if she could.
The likes of Ellie Warner, Nikita Jasmine and Katie McGlynn are all really supportive of you on social media. Have you had anyone like that reach out to congratulate you?
Loads of them have said how happy they were for me because they know how much it means. We’ve all had such a rocky time that when one person gets good news we all celebrate it together. It’s a glimpse of change that’s hopefully on the horizon for all of us.

You starred in Celebs Go Dating. What’s the difference between working on reality TV and working in a soap?
It’s more terrifying when people tweet or comment about something you’ve done on reality TV because it’s a lot more personal than disliking a character. In reality TV you’re putting yourself in the firing line a bit more, so having a thick skin is key. If you’re gonna say something, say it with your chest. Be bold with who you are.
You came out as bisexual which struck a chord with the LGBTQ+ community. How did that make you feel?
I never wanted to be a pied pier or anything like that. I was just like, “This is who I am,” and I was unapologetic about it. When you’re going on your journey you have to think about what it means to you before you realize what it might mean to others. Then you begin to understand that there’s power in being yourself.
